Whining noise

Hi there,

I own a mk7 golf r and am experiencing a whining noise coming from the engine bay. When I say whining Itís like the whine of a dry bearing in my opinion. The whine doesnít gain pitch with increase of speed and is most heard when your just on the throttle however itís now deteriorating to whine more often. At first when I noticed I would be in 6th gear 58mph just touching the throttle and no more and it would start to whine.

Any suggestions in where to start the fault finding process would be greatly appreciated
